The Swedish press today publishes a new cartoon of the Swedish artist Lars Vilks depicting the Prophet Muhammad with a dog's body, which was drawing to orgigine conspiracy to murder its author foiled yesterday in Ireland.

In support of the cartoonist, the great Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter (DN) devotes part of its business to one with a portrait of Lars Vilks, then a second editorial page and an account of events inside pages with in the support reproduction of the drawing in question.

The Daily Nerikes Allehanda of Örebro County, west of Stockholm, had published a satirical drawing by Lars Vilks August 18, 2007, to illustrate an editorial on the importance of freedom of expression, triggering a controversy in Sweden and abroad.

A group linked to al-Qaeda had offered $ 100,000 to kill the cartoonist and yesterday, the Irish police announced the arrest of seven Muslims suspected of involvement in a plot to assassinate him. B)

A journalist publishes this cartoon and they call it freedom of expression. That same journalist can go to jail in many European states if he publishes an article questioning the holocaust! Don't they realize that freedom comes with responsibilities? What purpose does this serve? what does this journalist or newspaper trying to prove?! This will only reignite the tension that's already boiling hot.

how old are you? 35? And you're fighting with a teenager .... Probably i'm dumb, that's why i'm at school.... I thought old people used to teach us instead of insulting us of idiots.

I'm leaving this forum, unfortunetly, there's too much flaming between eachothers. I thought this forum was cooler because everyone were Egyptian living outside and trying to create a good community sharing things with eachothers. Bass lel assaf.

LOL, I would have come after all my friends here with a 45 if I followed this logic here is the bad news for you, some times you'll get reactions based on your actions. you are not the only hot headed person here, use this as a part of the "growing-up" experience and move on.

now back to the subject at hand, my views since the very start of this cartoons thing, our reactions turned this guy from an obscure cartoonist in a village paper that has a average distribution ranging between 13 and 34 copies, we turned him to arguably the most famous cartoonist in the world and a champion of freedom of press and an ambassador of global fine art. exactly like we did with Salman Rushy.

That kind of situation (with a complete disregard to its motives) should have been ignored from the word go, but no, we needed to add another drama to our miserable existence and we did this person a favour that amounts to christmas and easter presents wrapped together. he became a star.

I think I realise what our main problem is, we have too much idle time on our hands

Ya Mcwally you have to understand that in most of European countries as well as north america,Jewish ppl control every important domain and that is why such a cartoon will get not attention but a cartoon about holocaust will get.
