Rules & Guidelines
These guidelines are in place to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone during their visits to the ES Forums. Please read and adhere to these rules while participating in discussions on these boards.

A. Posting Guidelines
A1. While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters. You are free to disagree with others, but if you stoop to personal abuse or attacks, your post(s) will be subject to removal. If you ARE insulted please report the post, but DO NOT retaliate.
A2. You are responsible for the contents of your post whether you are the original author or not. Any post not in line with the guidelines is subject to removal and the poster is subject to warning.
A3. Discussions revolving around religion & beliefs will be allowed, as long as the topic in question is handled in a respectable and sensitive manner. Bashing and mocking the religion & beliefs of anyone, be they a Muslim, Christian, Jew or whatever will be severely dealt with, and repeated efforts in this area by members will eventually lead to banning of the member, as the forums authority would like to keep these forums an enjoyable place for open discussion and a friendly approach.
A4. Discussion of moderator decisions publicly on the board or asking a moderator to ban someone or give someone a a card is prohibited. If you have an issue with a decision, PM the moderator.
A5. Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts, or the such.
A6. Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using email to spam other visitors or authors. We also do not allow posts that are sexual in nature or violate the ES Forums standards. The ES Forums team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate the standards.
A7. Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.
A8. We reserve the right to remove or edit offensive posts without notice.
A9. You cannot post any affiliate or referral links, or post anything asking for a referral. Such posts will be subject to removal/
A10. We do not allow people to post comments or emails to users here that advertise or solicit any products or services.
A11. Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure this website is not disrupted or abused in any way.
B. Special Forums
Some forums exist for a specific purpose. Please adhere to the guidelines set out below for these forums.
B1. News Forums
Any forum under the "News" section is intended for articles and newsfeeds that are from external sources. For these forums, please read the following guidelines before posting:
B1.1. A new topic must be either a full article (with a link to the source) or a link to an article with at least a paragraph of text (from the original article)
B1.2. Responses to the original post are allowed. The responses can be your own opinion or comment or it can be another related article or link to a related article
B1.3. Starting new topics as described in "B1.1." in any forum that is NOT in the "News" section is not allowed.
B1.4. Replying to topics with nothing but an article or link to an article in any forum that is NOT in the "News" section is not allowed. Your reply in non-News forums can include a link to an article only if it also includes your own personal comment.
B1.5. To be clear, you may use links to articles or sites as references in any topic or reply in any forum.
C. Nickname (Alias) Guidelines
C1. Aliases should follow the same guidelines as the posting guidelines outlined above.
C2. It is ultimately up to the discretion of the forum authority to decide whether an alias violates any of the ES Forums rules.
D. Avatar & Signature Guidelines
D1. Avatars can have a maximum width of 100pixels and a maximum height of 100 pixels. The content of an avatar follows the same guidelines as those stated above.
D2. Images used in signatures can have a maximum width of 500pixels and a maximum height of 150 pixels. A limit of 1 image per signature will be enforced.
D3. Avatars or signatures that violate the rules will warrant a request via PM for the member to adhere to the guidelines. Failure to respond promptly will result in a change of the signature or avatar by the ES Forums team.
